Lamentations 4-5; Psalm 103; Proverbs 26:23; Lamentations 5:19-22

When we are in the midst of trials, Lamentations 5:19-22 can sum up how we think of God. We may acknowledge that he reigns forever, but we feel he’s forgotten us; we may confess that we need God to save us, but we fear he has utterly rejected us. But God has proven himself a God of mercy – he returned Israel from the exile that led to such intense sorrow as recorded in this book, and he will deliver us from our own exile (citizens of Heaven, residents of Earth) to finally enjoy eternal life with our true King, Jesus. Rest in this good news today.
