Zechariah 11; Psalm 146; Proverbs 30:33; Zechariah 11:7-9, 17

Zechariah 11 tells a sad story – God called a good, strong leader to shepherd the flock bound for slaughter, but they rejected him and when he left the flock, God raised up a woeful leader who abandoned the flock. It’s always difficult to submit to leaders – we are so prideful that it’s hard to follow anyone, good or bad, especially that first time they lead in a way we disagree with. Our challenge is to recognize godly leaders and be humble enough to follow them. Today, pray for two things – that Sojourn would continually find God’s favor in being led by godly men and that your own heart would be soft and leadable, yet discerning of godliness.
