Family Day 5 – On Dysfunction (Proverbs 3:12)

Family life can be very difficult. The relationships are so complex and so close that great hurt can come from them. We call this dysfunction, but truthfully, there really aren’t any perfectly functional families because families are all full of sinners. But for the Christian, God is the heavenly Father as Proverbs 3:12 infers. Our relationship with God, restored by Jesus, is wonderfully functional. When family life seems hard and insurmountable, remember your heavenly Father. He has rescued you from despair and will strengthen you to face your family’s dysfunction with renewed courage, armed with the promise that one day all things will be made right in Jesus and the hope of seeing things move to that end in this present life. Take heart!
